Neurocore to Launch Memory Program in Fall 2016
By: PR Newswire Association LLC. - 25 Aug 2016Back to overview list

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich., Aug. 25, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Neurocore, leading provider of brain performance training, announced today a comprehensive memory program launching in 2016. Originally developed by Chief Medical Officer Dr. Majid Fotuhi, MD, PhD, this innovative approach will meet the needs of an aging population that has a strong desire to be not just physically fit, but mentally fit, and will be available at all Neurocore Brain Performance Centers in Michigan and South Florida beginning in Fall 2016.

Bringing the memory program to life, Neurocore combines its precision neurofeedback therapy programs with tested memory interventions to expand their service offerings in a groundbreaking new direction. Dr. Fotuhi's work is helping to shift the paradigm on how the medical community and general population view the aging brain and diseases like dementia and Alzheimer's. His research and proven approach are among a growing body of evidence showing that Alzheimer's can be prevented by targeted brain training, through neurofeedback and cognitive exercises, as well as lifestyle modifications, like diet and exercise.

"For more than 10 years, Neurocore's customized neurofeedback programs have been helping clients overcome a variety of behavioral health conditions and experience long-lasting results – all without mediation," said Mark Murrison, CEO of Neurocore. "Merging our expertise in neurofeedback with Dr. Fotuhi's scientific discoveries about combating the aging brain will allow us to improve memory and enhance overall performance of the aging population."

Similar to Neurocore's current program offerings, the new memory program is poised to exceed expectations when compared to traditional options for preventing cognitive decline caused by aging. "Understanding the problem vs. treating symptoms is a key differentiator to our overall approach," Murrison said. "We focus on strengthening the brain, so that the symptoms are reduced or often eliminated altogether."

Neurocore's Memory Program will include:

  • Precision neurofeedback therapy
  • Heart Rate Variability (HRV) biofeedback therapy
  • Cognitive exercises
  • Meditation/relaxation coaching
  • Diet/physical fitness counseling
  • Weekly monitoring

"Expanding Neurocore's expertise beyond neurofeedback has enabled them to serve the growing aging segment of the population, furthering its commitment to improving brain heath and bringing noninvasive, empowering solutions to as many people as possible," Dr. Fotuhi said. "This new program provides new hope for people who may have been previously, falsely discouraged."

The new memory program will roll out in Neurocore's two new South Florida Brain Performance Centers in October, followed closely by availability at the Michigan Centers in Fall 2016.
