PITTSBURGH, June 30, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- DermatologistOnCall®, the nation's leader in online dermatology, today launched a new mobile app that enables patients to quickly and easily start and complete an online visit with a board-certified dermatologist. The app is free and works with Apple's iPhones and iPads, and Android phones and tablets. "Our new mobile app makes it more convenient than ever for patients to access DermatologistOnCall, especially in today's digital age," said Dave Zynn, president and CEO of Iagnosis, creators of DermatologistOnCall. "Kids do not have to miss school and parents will not miss work to initiate an online visit for a variety of conditions like acne, rosacea, psoriasis, or suspicious moles." With a shortage of board-certified dermatologists in the U.S., some patients can wait up to three months or longer for in-office appointments. With DermatologistOnCall, patients receive a diagnosis and treatment plan within 24 hours on average. With thousands of patients already having been treated using this online tool, approximately 98 percent of surveyed patients would recommend DermatologistOnCall to a friend or family member. The DermatologistOnCall patient app, developed and powered by Iagnosis, is available in the iTunes App Store or the Google Play Store or through a link at www.DermatologistOnCall.com. Individuals who are concerned with a skin, hair or nail condition simply create an account, answer a series of questions and upload photos of the affected skin area. Among the more than 3,000 conditions for which patients access the system are acne, cold sores, dermatitis, eczema, hair loss, moles, poison ivy, psoriasis, rosacea, shingles, melanoma and other skin cancers. Within 24 hours on average, the patient will receive a notification to log back in to the system for a diagnosis and treatment plan, including necessary prescriptions or a recommendation to be seen in office by a dermatologist. This online visit costs $59 per condition. About DermatologistOnCall
