Patient Assistance Site Relaunched to Better Help Patients, Caregivers
By: PR Newswire Association LLC. - 06 Mar 2015Back to overview list

WASHINGTON, March 6, 2015 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- PhRMA member companies are committed to ensuring patients can access the medicines they need to stay healthy and live longer, more productive lives. As part of this pledge, today we relaunched the Partnership for Prescription Assistance (PPA) website to provide patients and caregivers with faster, easier access to information on public and private patient assistance programs.

The modernized website features information on more than 100,000 free health care clinics throughout the United States, interactive content on how to improve health for all patients and details on how uninsured individuals can access health care coverage. With this new resource, we're providing patients and caregivers with improved access to information for more than 475 public and private patient assistance programs, including nearly 200 offered by biopharmaceutical companies.

Since its launch in 2005, PPA has connected more than nine million Americans who are uninsured or lack adequate health care coverage to programs that provide needed prescription medicines for free or nearly free. Through the revamped website, we hope to help even more people access the medicines they need.

For the most up-to-date information on PPA and other consumer health initiatives, read the PPA blog and follow us on Facebook and Twitter. Furthermore, be sure to share your questions and thoughts with us so that we can continue to address the issues you care most about.
