SEREMBAN, Malaysia, April 23, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- DaVita Kidney Care, a division of DaVita HealthCare Partners Inc. (NYSE: DVA) and a leading provider of kidney care services, today announced it acquired three hemodialysis centers from Malaysian dialysis provider Sinar Indentiti Sbn Bhd, further expanding its care of kidney patients in the country.

The acquisition adds three clinics to DaVita's 21 existing centers, which span both peninsular and east Malaysia.

In Malaysia, kidney disease is a growing health concern. According to the Malaysian Society of Nephrology, more than 30,000 patients receive life-sustaining dialysis treatments, a population that has grown nearly 12 percent year over year.
