NORTHBROOK, Ill., April 3, 2024 /PRNewswire-HISPANIC PR WIRE/ -- The Children's Heart Foundation is proud to introduce the inaugural Underrepresented Minority in Medicine Research Training Award (URMRTA), an initiative aimed at supporting the career development of underrepresented minority individuals in pediatric cardiology research on congenital heart defects (CHDs). The URMRTA reflects The Children's Heart Foundation's commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in healthcare and medical research, specifically pediatric cardiology research related to CHDs. By addressing the disparities and challenges faced by underrepresented minority individuals, we aim to cultivate a more diverse and representative healthcare workforce that provides equitable and accessible care to all communities. Eligible applicants must identify as members of an underrepresented minority group in medicine: Blacks or African Americans, Hispanics or Latinos, American Indians or Alaska Natives, Native Hawaiians, and other Pacific Islanders.
