InventHelp Inventors Develop Enhanced Rectal Tube (LAX-1586)
By: PR Newswire Association LLC. - 21 Feb 2024Back to overview list

PITTSBURGH, Feb. 21, 2024 /PRNewswire/ -- "We are both experienced nurses and we wanted to help improve care for patients requiring retention enemas," said one of two inventors, from Santa Clarita, Calif., "so we invented the RECTAL TUBE WITH CATHETER. Our design would be used for the delivery of regular enemas, stool disimpaction, and related procedures."

The patent-pending invention provides a better way to administer retention enemas especially for patients with liver disease or high potassium levels. In doing so, it maximizes retention of fluid and medication in the lower part of the intestine. It also reduces leakage, skin breakdown and mess. As a result, it would improve patient care as well as nursing processes/procedures. The invention features an effective design that is easy to administer so it is ideal for hospitals and long-term care facilities.

The original design was submitted to the Los Angeles sales office of InventHelp. It is currently available for licensing or sale to manufacturers or marketers.
