15th Annual WORLDSymposium(TM) 2019 Scientific Meeting February 4 - 7, 2019 Poster Abstracts Announced
ORLANDO, Fla., Jan. 15, 2019 /PRNewswire/ -- The planning committee for WORLDSymposium has announced the list of scientific abstracts that will be presented at the WORLDSymposium 2019 Poster Sessions. Over 440 scientific abstracts including the latest research on lysosomal diseases will be presented during the Poster Sessions on February 5th and 6th from 4:30-6:30 PM. These sessions are an excellent opportunity to see, hear and discuss specific research topics directly with the abstract authors, as well as enjoy networking with colleagues from around the globe.
WORLDSymposium also announces Chester (Chet) B. Whitley, Ph.D., M.D., as the Keynote Speaker on February 7, 2019. Dr. Whitley is a tenured Professor in the Department of Pediatrics, the Department of Experimental and Clinical Pharmacology, and Director of the Advanced Therapies Program at the University of Minnesota. He is also the Principal Investigator for the Lysosomal Disease Network (LDN). Dr. Whitley's Keynote Address The 'New' Lysosomal Disease Network, will describe how the intersection of past lysosomal disease research and current, ongoing, unmet need, has created both the springboard for the next generations of therapies, and provided the overarching vision for researchers and clinicians in the LDN going forward.
Pre-conference events include Emerging Trends 2019 and the LDN Council of Patient Advocates (COPA) WORLDFair™ on February 4, 2019.
WORLDSymposium 2019 will kick off with an Opening Reception on February 4, 2019 from 5:30-6:30PM. The Young Investigator Awards will be presented Monday evening at 5:15 PM prior to the Opening Reception. The Roscoe O. Brady Award for Innovation and Accomplishment will be presented to Danilo Tagle, PhD, on February 5th. The Patient Advocate Leader (PAL) Award will be presented to Mark Dant on Wednesday, February 6th.
16 different satellite symposia will be presented providing additional educational opportunities at WORLDSymposium 2019.
