WALTHAM, Mass. , Oct. 3, 2022 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Boston IVF, one of the world's most experienced fertility treatment providers, who has assisted in over 125,000 babies born since 1986, is pleased to announce that reproductive endocrinologist Pietro Bortoletto, MD, MSc has joined its practice and physician team. Dr. Bortoletto is now accepting new patients at Boston IVF's fertility centers in Stoneham, Massachusetts and Waltham, Massachusetts.
Dr. Bortoletto specializes in all aspects of infertility treatment and family building care, including intrauterine insemination (IUI), in vitro fertilization (IVF), LGBTQIA+ fertility, egg freezing, single-parenting, polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS), and more. He holds a special interest in the treatment of diminished ovarian reserve, recurrent pregnancy loss & implantation failure, Müllerian anomalies, fibroids, endometriosis, and Asherman's syndrome.
"Boston IVF is not just a coveted destination for individuals and couples who seek fertility care – but also for fertility doctors and researchers like me," said Pietro Bortoletto, MD, MSc. "I am elated to join a fertility network as respected and experienced as Boston IVF – where we have the resources, experience, and innovative spirit to make a positive impact in the lives of all patients."
In addition to Dr. Bortoletto's role as a reproductive endocrinologist at Boston IVF, he also serves as the fertility network's Director of Reproductive Surgery. At Boston IVF's Surgery Center of Waltham – located inside its Waltham fertility clinic – Dr. Bortoletto performs complex hysteroscopy for the treatment of fibroids, Mullerian anomalies, retained products of conception and Asherman's syndrome with the goal of improving reproductive outcomes. He also performs minimally invasive gynecologic surgery for endometriosis, fibroids, Mullerian anomalies, and tubal disease at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center.
Boston IVF's Surgery Center of Waltham, the only freestanding reproductive surgical center in New England, performs over 300 reproductive surgery procedures each year. As a licensed and accredited ambulatory surgical center, it offers patients a reputable, safe, and convenient environment that is less stressful than a traditional, larger hospital.
He currently serves as the Interactive Associate in Chief for Fertility & Sterility, the world's most distinguished scientific research journal for obstetricians, gynecologists, reproductive endocrinologists, urologists, scientists and others who treat and investigate problems of infertility and human reproductive disorders. Additionally, he is the Media Editor at F&S Reports, a part of the Fertility and Sterility family of journals that publishes peer-reviewed original scientific articles relevant to reproductive medicine. He is the cohost of the both the 'Fertility & Sterility On Air' and 'F&S Unplugged' podcasts.
Boston IVF's renowned research program has published hundreds of scientific papers and clinical studies – many of which have led to industry "firsts" in reproductive care. This includes the first IVF/ICSI pregnancy in New England and the first live birth from a frozen egg in Massachusetts, amongst others.
"Anytime an organization like Boston IVF can successfully recruit a multi-dimensional reproductive endocrinologist, reproductive surgeon, and researcher as talented as Dr. Bortoletto – it's an important addition worth recognizing," said David Stern, CEO of the Boston IVF fertility network. "What is truly unique about Boston IVF is the continuity of care that we offer. The addition of Dr. Bortoletto ensures that individuals and couples will continue to receive streamlined, superior fertility treatments, surgical procedures, wellness care, and more all under one roof."
Dr. Bortoletto received his medical degree at Northwestern University's Feinberg School of Medicine, completed his OB/GYN residency at the Brigham & Women's Hospital/Massachusetts General Hospital Integrated Residency Program, and his fellowship at Weill Cornell Medicine – where he also earned a master's degree in Clinical & Translational Investigation. He is currently on staff at the Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center Department of Obstetrics & Gynecology and is as clinical instructor at Harvard Medical School.
